Cwmni Da’s children’s drama series Deian a Loli celebrated a BAFTA Cymru win at the recent awards ceremony in Cardiff. The series, which features twins with special powers, was awarded Best Children’s Programme amongst stiff competition which included another shortlisted Cwmni Da series, Teulu Ni.
The BAFTA Cymru awards recognises the cream of Welsh talent in both English and Welsh language productions and producer Angharad Elen was thrilled to accept the trophy.
“This is an award for the whole team,” she said, “including all the fantastic cast, the crew and the multi-talented production designer who’s also in charge of make-up and costume. We’re a small crew, and all of us are involved in every aspect, from the initial storyboarding to post-production. We are very proud to say that every aspect of the show was produced in-house at Cwmni Da.”
Amanda Rees, S4C’s Creative Content Director was delighted with the award. “Warm congratulations to everybody on the Deian a Loli team. This award is very well deserved and recognition of the application, the talent, and creativity which has made the series such an outstanding success.”
Deian a Loli has been hugely popular since its first broadcast in 2016 and a second series begins on S4C on October 25th.
