Anfonaf Angel : Côr Rhys Meirion

S4C | 1 x 60minutes

To celebrate 10 years since composing ‘Anfonaf Angel’, tenor Rhys Meirion has set himself a challenge.

Rhys Meirion is going to create a new arrangement of the song ‘Anfonaf Angel’ and form a new choir of very special people from across Wales who’ve all needed an ‘angel’ in their lives.

Over four weeks, Rhys Meirion meets incredible people with incredible stories – From Anglesey to Merthyr Tudful as he sets up one special choir to sing a new version of the famous song ‘Anfonaf Angel’, composed in 2008 by Robart Arwyn and Hywel Gwynfryn.

With the help of Mari Pritchard, Côr Ieuenctid Mon’s conductor, Huw Foulkes, conductor of Côr Dydd and Osian and Branwen Williams from Welsh band ‘Candelas’ they set to create a new arrangement of the song for this special programme.

The experience comes to an end as the contributors get to spend time at ‘Sain’ studio in Llandwrog to record their arrangement of ‘Anfonaf Angel’.
