From the hills of Bro Ddyfi to mountain farming in Peru

After herding hundreds of reindeer in Norway in a festive programme on S4C, hill farmers Wil Hendreseifion and Aeron Pughe undertake an exciting new challenge. The aim of the trip is to learn about the Inca community in Peru as they live with with local people in one of the most challenging rural areas in the world.

From the mountaints of Bro Ddyfi to the highest peaks of Peru, Wil and Aeron will live and work alongside the shepherds of the Andes. Flying from London to Lima before moving on to Cusco, they will travel to work in this secluded part of the world.

Wil and Aeron have been close friends for many years and this adventure will stay with the two farmers from Machynlleth forever. Working at extreme altitudes and dealing altitude sickness will be one of the most difficult challenges they face.

The Welsh farmers give their all as they join in the Inca way of life and work with the alpacas, lamas and shepherds and plant and harvest crops on the mountain sides. The programme documents their extraodinary journey as they discover more about the language, traditions and harsh reality of the life of the Inca people in the Andes.
